About the Role: The SMB Account Executive manages the complete sales lifecycle for inbound small business prospects, from initial discovery and qualification all the way through closing and post-sale activation. Success in this role is defined not by signed contracts, but by getting new customers to genuinely adopt and use the platform.


Responsibilities

  • Own the full sales cycle for inbound SMB prospects, including discovery, qualification, demos, proposals, and closing.

  • Qualify inbound leads against the company's ideal customer profile and identify which prospects are the right long-term fit.

  • Run consultative discovery calls and demos focused on the prospect's real business challenges, such as manual dispatching, payment collection, lost trips, and operational inefficiencies.

  • Drive new customers toward successful activation during their first 30 days, partnering closely with the customer success team.

  • Meet monthly targets related to both closed deals and activated accounts.

  • Maintain accurate CRM records, follow-ups, and pipeline updates.

  • Use AI tools to improve daily workflows, including prospect research, call preparation, follow-up emails, CRM hygiene, and sales process efficiency.

  • Identify bottlenecks in the sales process and proactively suggest improvements to help scale the SMB sales motion.

  • Collaborate with internal teams to improve onboarding, customer handoff, sales messaging, and overall customer experience.

  • Act with ownership, energy, and accountability throughout the entire sales and activation process.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in SaaS sales, ideally selling to SMBs or owner-operated businesses.

  • Strong full-cycle sales experience, including discovery, demos, follow-ups, negotiation, and closing.

  • Experience working with inbound leads and qualifying prospects based on fit, urgency, and business needs.

  • Ability to speak with small business owners in a practical, relatable, and consultative way.

  • Strong comfort with high-activity sales environments, including frequent calls, demos, and follow-ups.

  • Proactive, hands-on mindset with the ability to take ownership beyond the signed contract.

  • Experience using CRM systems and maintaining clean pipeline data.

  • Comfort using AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or similar tools to improve sales productivity.

  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken.

  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating with teams in the U.S.

Nice to Have

  • Prior experience with vertical SaaS products aimed at SMB owner-operators.

  • Background in ground transportation, logistics, field services, or other SMB-heavy industries.

  • Experience owning the full sales cycle end to end.

  • History of building side projects, internal tools, or processes from the ground up.
